My introduction

My name is Elijah. I like gaming, sports, and cooking. I also like music. It helps me calm down when I am upset. I play the violin and the guitar. I also like art. I like to draw, sketch fantasy things that look real, and work with wood. I really like cars and someday want to rebuild an old car with my dad. 

I have a celiac disease, severe allergies to lots of foods, and I am lactose intolerant. I have 3 sisters, 2 of who have celiac as well. I live with my parents and grandparents. My grandpa has celiac as well. This makes eating and cooking a challenge. We cook together since we eat some of the same things.  I like to find good recipes and fix them so my sisters, grandpa, and I can eat them.

I do home-school so that I don’t get things that I am allergic to. When I eat things that I am allergic to I get a red rash with bumps that itch and look awful. It is rough to be a teenager with a rash on my face. 

I want to help others that struggle with physical problems related to diet. I like to bake and cook so I will be making recipes that I can eat and cook. I will share these recipes with you on my web site.

I also make things to use in the kitchen. I make cutting boards. My sister makes cotton hypoallergenic market bags, kitchen scrubbies and cloths.  We might be obsessed with kitchen things, just a little, but that is me and my family.

Smurffles

       My mom thought of the idea of blueberry waffles. Me and the family loved the idea. So me and my mom made them, our family loved the taste so much that my sisters named them Smurffles after the Smurfs, and their blue color.

       My mom loved the smurfs so much that she dressed up as one. It was on Halloween and she even made her skin blue; of course she was only 2, but who is counting. So, Smurffles were a natural evolution.

Gluten free flour mix

Hey guys I want to introduce you to a recipe it is a gluten free flour recipe. Me and my family use this recipe every time we bake, it is great when most of your family is gluten free. We like it because it tastes good and is well, gluten free. I am starting with this post because looking at my recipes, I realize most of them use flour.  So, you will need flour that is gluten free to make most of my other recipes. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 cup corntstarch
  • 1 cup tapioca flour
  • 1 tablespoon potato flour

Directions: Mix all ingredients. We have had success with putting them in a mixer and blending well. We have also put all ingredients in a five gallon bucket and shaken to mix well.
